Pop icon Lady Gaga, whose performances in 'A Star Is Born' and 'American Horror Story: Hotel' is in discussions to play The White Queen.
The Marvel Universe is planning to move the X-Men franchise into their greater MCU continuity, which will involve recasting a lot of their biggest characters.
Known as the White Queen thanks to her association with the villainous Hellfire Club, Emma Frost is a powerful psychic and manipulator. Calculating and cold, bred in the highest society, the imperious White Queen would go from villain to hero, eventually ending up in a relationship with Cyclops. Later, she developed a secondary mutation that let her create a diamond skin, perfect for her aristocratic demeanor.
This news comes at the heels of Janelle Monáe announcing her interest in playing Storm, one of the main leaders of the X-Men.
“I definitely have thrown it out there,” Monáe told Empire. “One of my dreams has always been to play Storm. I don’t know if she comes in Black Panther, but it would be a dream to have her in it. I don’t know where they are with that.”
She added: “A lot of women have played Storm and they’ve done an exceptional job, and I would love to be in that line of artists and get to do Storm justice.”
