Pinhead is one of the most iconic monsters of all time. Created by Clive Barker for his novella The Hellbound Heart, which he would later direct as Hellraiser, Pinhead is the nickname for the Hell Priest, the leader of a group of sadomasochistic demons known as the Cenobites. As portrayed by actor Doug Bradley, Pinhead is a powerful, erudite nightmare from Hell and he's become the kind of monster you almost want to become.
With the coronavirus lockdown and the protests leading to curfews, many of us are forced to remain indoors. To help alleviate a horror fan's boredom, Bradley has set up a YouTube page. His first project? Reading the classic horror novel Frankenstein.
The actor brings a tremendous amount of dignity and menace to the performance and the little reading corner he performs from looks like an ideal horror fan's reading spot. Busts of Hammer Horror's Curse of Frankenstein's adaption rest on his desk and prints of iconic Frankenstein film adaptions are posted on the wall behind him. Clearly there's a lot of love for the monster and his arrogant creator, and this is a wonderful way to experience this timeless story.
