The 'Train to Busan' remake has found a director.

The film will be produced by 'The Conjuring' director James Wan’s Atomic Monster.

One of the recent mega hits of the horror genre from the last ten years was South Korea's 'Train to Busan', a kinetic horror film about a father trying to protect his estranged daughter while on a train traveling through a zombie-infested cityscape. It's violent, overwhelming, and surprisingly emotionally affecting, so it was only a matter of time before a remake happened.

James Wan's production company Atomic Monster will be producing the upcoming remake and they tapped Indonesian horror director Timo Tjahjanto to helm the film. Horror fans will know him from his work on anthology films like 'The ABCs of Death' and 'VHS 2" as well as films like 'Killers' and 'May the Devil Take You.'

This is exciting news for horror fans, as it will give fresh exposure to a notable talent from abroad and give us an opportunity to show what a talented director can do with proven material. Tjahjanto gave a TED talk on the genre, which you can watch below.
